In the controversial Citizens United v. FEC decision, the Supreme Court struck down reasonable limits on outside spending in political campaigns, opening the door to a potential flood of special interest money into our electoral process with virtually no public disclosure. The American people deserve open elections where individual citizens can have their voices heard, not spending contests controlled by shadowy outside groups.
The only way we can address the problems created by the Supreme Court’s decision is with a constitutional amendment that allows the states and Congress to establish reasonable campaign finance rules.
The amendment process has started in Washington with the introduction of S.J. Res. 29. Please stand with Senator Amy Klobuchar and the other co-sponsors and let Washington know that you support amending the Constitution to limit special interest money in our elections.
